Established in 1971, Hunter Wilson & Partners Ltd is one of the leading manufactureres and suppliers of high quality machine-rounded timbers for fencing, garden and landscaping, supplying landscape designers, local authorities and contractors across the UK.



Based at Gretna, Scotland, Hunter Wilson Ltd is close to the motorway network for an easy distribution.

Applications for the company's products include retaining walls and revetments; river and canal bank reinforcement, playground furniture, bollards, street furniture and garden furniture, and horse jumps and poles.

Specialist manufacture
Hunter Wilson & Partners Ltd is able to undertake special, one-off projects and can offer stress-graded structural poles for space frame construction. Bollards are manufactured dome topped, chamfered, ring rebated or drilled. Poles for playground equipment are drilled and scalloped to customers' requirements.

Composition and manufacture
Timber is drawn from high quality, managed forests in Dumfries & Galloway, the Borders, Kielder Forests and the Lake District. It is machined and finished in the company's modern mill at Gretna.
Timber is machined to rounds or half-rounds in a range of standard lengths or to client specifications. Rounds can incorporate chamfering, doming and scalloping. All tree stakes are fully pencil pointed. Hardwood can be supplied as well as the tradtional sofwood.

Finish and appearance
Hunter Wilson is a licencee of Arch Timber Protection, and provides a contract timber treatment service using Tanalith E
and Heat Treatment Process. Timber is supplied treated either green or brown, and guarantees are given for the required service life. Painting and special finishing can be provided on request.

Technical support
The company provides a distribution service throughout the UK, supplying directly to customers' premises or directly onto site. Timber is provided packaged in banded bundles, ready for transport by fork-lift.
